Other Activities Of Institute

The institute will endeavor to achieve the objectives through a variety of activities. These will, inter-alia, include:

  • Organizing craft exhibitions and market clinics
  • Awarding diploma, certificates and other distinctions at various levels and prescribing standards of proficiency therefore
  • Instituting and awarding fellowship, scholarships, stipends, prizes, medals etc in accordance with the relevant rules.
  • Conferring honorary awards and other distinctions.
  • Providing service, training and research in the field of design and production of handicraft, graphics, drawings and other allied fields.
  • Establishing equipping and maintaining, workshops and facilities with modem equipments including computer in order to optimize utilization of raw material: process and human skills.
  • Providing funds for workshops and for payment to any person of persons engaged in craft related service, training and research work whether in such workshops/crafts centers or elsewhere.
  • Preparing printing, publishing, issuing acquiring and circulating books, papers, periodicals, exhibits, films, slides, cassettes, circulars and other literary undertakings dealing with or having a bearing upon the subject of production, designing and propagation of handicrafts
  • Organising craft-fairs and cultural programmes involving craft communities in order to evolve and strengthen distinct craft ethos.
  • Connecting and disseminating knowledge and information to facilitate the export of handicrafts including training in processes and procedures.
  • Undertaking study, research and training in package design and technology.
  • Organising training in salesmanship, relevant skill and knowledge regarding marketing and merchandising of handicrafts.
  • Undertaking research and development and extension service and training for greater value addition in crafts by product diversification new applications etc. including training in fashion and accessory design
  • Conduction, undertaking, sponsoring and assisting studies in craft sector in India or abroad
  • Retaining or employing skilled, professional or Technical Advisors. Consultants or workers in connection with the objects of the Society and to pay therefore such honorarium, fees or remuneration as may be thought expedient.
  • Funding, aiding or maintaining workshops, craft centers, endow scholarship and bursaries for the support of students and apprentices whether in workshops/faculties of the Society or elsewhere.
  • Assimilating synthesizing and disseminating information about invention and innovations for improvements in handicrafts
  • Acquiring any patents or licenses relating to such innovations, improvements or designs or standardization marks whether for general or specific purpose
  • Providing incentives to craftsmen and others for inventive skills, to work out details and specifications of processes and products by giving awards financial and technical aid and facilities.
  • Accepting grants of money and other assistance from the state Government/Government of   India and other sources, Indian or foreign, with a view to promote the objects of the Society
  • Constructing buildings and alter, extend, improve, repair, enlarge, or modify the same and to provide and equip such buildings with light, water, drainage, furniture, fittings and all necessary accessories
  • Acquiring by gift, purchase, exchange, lease, orhire or otherwise howsoever any lands, buildings, easements and any property, movable and/or immovable and any estate or interest for the furtherance of all or any of the objects of the Society.
  • Selling, managing, transferring, exchanging, mortgaging, disposing of or otherwise dealing with any property, whatever, belonging to the Society provided, however, that no immovable property of the society shall be sold or mortgaged without the consent of the Government of U.P.
  • Opening account with one or more banks to draw, make accept, endorse and discount cheques, notes or other negotiable instruments
  • Paying all expenses, preliminary or incidental, to the formation and registration of the society and for its management.
  • Borrowing and raising moneys, with or without security or on the security of a mortgage charge, or hypothecation or pledge over all or any of the immovable or movable properties belonging to the Society or in any other manner whatsoever
  • Negotiating and entering into contracts on behalf of the Society and varying and rescinding such contracts and signings executing and delivering such assurances and deeds as may be necessary
  • Imposing and recovering affiliation and other fees and charges for services rendered.
  • Amalgamating with any other Society, Institute, or Association having objects wholly or in part similar to the objects of the Society with the sanction of the Government of U.P.
  • Making rules and bye-laws for the conduct and management of the affairs of the Society and to add, to amend, vary or rescind them from time to them : and
  • Doing such other lawful acts, deeds or thins as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects.
